BJP leads in bringing star campaigners to city

Shahnawaz Hussain to add to election fervor among youth
Vijay Sampla also in city; Aarti Mehra, Latika Sharma campaigning for party candidates

Chandigarh, December 6, 2016: As the star campaigners of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) have started campaigning for party candidates in city, their campaign has further got a boost with star campaigners joining them.

Shahnawaz Hussain, National Spokesperson of BJP has a good connect with the youth. He was in 1999 elected as MP from Kishanhanj Bihar when he was just 31 and has also been Minister of State for Youth Affairs and also has the distinction of being the youngest cabinet minister. He would be addressing a press conference on Wednesday and also campaigning with different BJP candidates in the city.

Vijay Sampla, Union Minister and Punjab BJP President will be campaigning in different parts of the city. He will be addressing a public rally on Wednesday in support of Gurpreet Singh Dhillon in Sector 32.  Rattan Lal Kataria, Ambala MP will be campaigning in city on December 10.

The party is way ahead in strategizing its campaign plan as compared to Congress, as BJP first released the list of its candidates a week before Congress did and its candidates were quick in filing nominations before Congress and now it has managed to lead in bringing its senior leaders in city. Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has shortlisted 30 star campaigners who are likely to visit the city to connect with the residents of different wards.

On the other hand Aarti Mehra has been campaigning in city since Monday giving a major boost to the women candidates contesting for MC elections.

Mehra, who has served as Mayor, Municipal Corporation, Delhi (MCD), was also the former incharge for Chandigarh.

She is being supported by Latika Sharma, Kalka MLA who is also campaigning in city. The women candidates contesting on BJP ticket include experienced leaders including lawyers like Raj Bala Malik and Asha Kumari Jaswal.
