Educate people, don’t force them to make cashless payments: Tandon

Sanjay Tandon, Chandigarh State President of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today welcomed the decision taken by Chandigarh Administration to continue accepting payments in cash for various services even when it had decided to make Chandigarh cashless.

BJP Chandigarh president welcomed the move of the Chandigarh Administration and said city residents will not be inconvenienced now.

In a statement issued here today, Tandon said, “It is a welcome move of the administration and government, non-government departments, and shops should work towards encouraging the people for going cashless but should not force people to make cashless payment. The people should be motivated and educated.”

It may be mentioned here that Chandigarh Administration has decided to make Chandigarh the first cashless city of India and will encourage the school and college students to spread awareness amongst their parents as far as use of debit and credit cards, online payment, swipe machines and other methods of cashless payments.
