‘Congress will stand exposed in its debate against demonetization’: BJP Gen. Secy.

Says BJP is open for debate on demonetization, which has affected corrupt Cong leaders the most

Chandigarh, December 10, 2016:  The local unit of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today blasted the Congress over it campaign against the BJP on demonetization issue. While commenting on the statement made by Rahul Gandhi, Congress Vice-President, Chander Shekhar, General Secretary of Chandigarh BJP said Rahul Gandhi should first look into the misdeeds of his own party before leveling baseless allegations against BJP, which is working for the good of the country under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

It may be mentioned here that former Air Force Chief SP Tyagi was arrested on Friday over alleged irregularities in the Italy-based AugustaWestland VVIP chopper deal worth 3600 crores, signed when the Congress was in power.

An Italian court had found evidence of the corruption in the helicopter deal and Sonia Gandhi, Congress President has been described as the "driving force" behind the deal.

Shekhar said Congress Vice-President was blaming the BJP for not being allowed to speak in the Lok Sabha on what he described demonetization as the ‘biggest scam’. He said the chopper deal case investigation was conducted on fast track after the Modi government took over in 2014 which was committed to check black money, adding that Congress has been embroiled in several scams over the years including the 2G scam in 2008, CWG scam in 2010, cash for vote scam in 2011, coal scam in 2012, Adarsh scam in 2012, IPL scam in 2013, to name a few. He added Rahul Gandhi should remember Robert Vadra’s name in illegal land deals had also hit headlines.

The BJP leader said demonetization had affected those who had black money including the Congress leaders who have been at the epicenter of scams. He added BJP was not afraid of Rahul Gandhi but he should be ready for debate, adding if there is a debate on demonetization, Rahul who was talking about speaking in the parliament will be left speechless and will stand exposed himself.
