4 Years of Congress Misrule vs 1 Year of Performance-oriented BJP Regime
While absence of safety gear claimed several deaths in city, it failed to move the Congress. Taking on the Congress on the third issue, the party said, it was only after the BJP mayor Arun Sood took over that the long pending demand of safety gear for sewer workers was finally obtained safety equipment worth Rs 21.11 lakh.
Mayor Arun Sood who had got through the proposal had raised serious concern that nothing was being done for their safety of sewer workers despite deaths. BJP is taking on the Congress everyday on different issues concerning the city and today was the third issue taken up by BJP today.
The equipment includes breathing apparatus, safety body harness or safety belt, hand gloves, safety goggles, safety helmet, head lamp (cap lamp), reflecting jacket, safety gumboots and gas detectors. The gas detector will be used to check the level and quantity of gases in the sewer line. About 20 sets have been purchased.
