Chandigarh, December 12, 2016: Anurag Thakur, MP, Hamirpur and also the National president Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha campaigned in the city for the BJP candidates contesting for the forthcoming Municipal Corporation elections.

He was accompanied by Sanjay Tandon, BJP State President Chandigarh, Amit Rana, Chandigarh BJYM President, Ramvir Bhatti, Vice President BJP Chandigarh and Chairman Market Committee.

He addressed public meetings in Sector 56 to support Satish Kainth, candidate ward number 11; Panjab University in support of Raj Bala Malik, ward 2 candidate; Sector 22 in support of Ravi Kant Sharma, ward 3 candidate; Sector 23, in support of Sunita Dhawan, ward 4 candidate; Maloya stadium in support of Rajesh Kalia, ward 7 candidate; Dhanas in support of BJP-SAD candidate Meena, ward 5 candidate and Manimajra in support of Jagtar Singh Dhillon, ward 25 candidate.

Thakur, while pointing on black money and demonetization, said, “I can understand that people may be facing problems due the transition that is happening for making India a corruption free country. But I would urge one and all, especially the youth brigade, to encourage everyone to use their mobile phones as money wallets. You use so many applications on your phone, why can’t you use the same for making payments? It’s time to go cashless; it’s time to utilize digital cash; it’s time to make India a digital transaction country which will not only curb corruption but will be a milestone to nip the evil (Black Money) in the bud.

He said Chandigarh Corporation should be made Congress-free. “In the last 14 years Congress could do nothing while BJP managed to do a lot in 10 months so you can imagine what can be done in coming 5 years”, he said.

He also lambasted the Congress for criticizing the Narendra Modi government over demonetization, as they are themselves corrupt and don’t know how to dispose off their black money.

While addressing the audience Sanjay Tandon, BJP State President Chandigarh said, “Congress has only been involved in scams during their tenure in the Municipal Corporation while in the 10 months BJP has been able to bring about a lot of change in the city by completing the works on which Congress had been sleeping since many years.

Tandon said, people will vote for BJP if they want development and that Congress was not getting leaders and when the leaders came there was no one to listen to them.

He added BJP campaign was getting full support of people and on Sunday there were 100 nukkar meetings and 16 rallies. He said there are two powers in the country, one who is working for the development of country and the others who are bringing hurdles in the development of country.”
