‘Promises delivered by BJP weren’t done sitting inside houses’: Tandon

Chandigarh, December 9, 2016: Sanjay Tandon, State President BJP Chandigarh today said important projects taken up by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) clearly brings out that the party was committed to working for the betterment of the city.

Coming down heavily on the claims made by Pardeep Chabbra, Chandigarh Congress President, he said Congress seems to be handicapped in countering the BJP on issues and limited to demonetization issue which majorly affects the upper class.

Tandon said BJP party during its regime has managed to ensure safe and adequate drinking water supply and it was because of the initiative taken by BJP that city will receive its full share of 2 crore 90 million gallons of water from two pipelines of Kajauli waterworks' phases V and VI. This he said cannot be done sitting inside homes.

He added it was only BJP which has taken up the issue of completely making the electricity system underground and overhead wiring will be done away with completely. The Congress despite having made promises in this regard could do nothing. Further smart grid system is all set to be installed in the city, Tandon said, adding this will help in checking meter tempering. Tandon said these demands cannot be met sitting inside houses.

He said upgrading of health services in city with modern facilities during BJP tenure has been appreciated widely by those who have visited them and could not have been accomplished sitting inside homes. “Congress leaders have no right from making such statements and should remember how BJP has brought a positive change in the lives of people. It was during Congress regime, LPG cylinders were sold in black and NDA government made LPG available on demand”, he added.
