Senior BJP leaders join party candidates in campaigning

•       MP Kirron Kher appeals to vote for development
•       Sampark Centre to be made functional in Ram Darbar

Chandigarh, December 10, 2016: Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders today campaigned for party candidates contesting in different parts of the city. While Chandigarh MP, Kirron Kher canvassed for candidates in Manimajra, Sector 22 and Ram Darbar, Kalka MLA, Latika Sharma campaigned for party candidate in ward 23, and senior BJP leader Banto Kataria also joined campaigning with Sanjay Tandon, Chandigarh State President of BJP who joined the campaign with several party candidates.

Kirron Kher, Chandigarh MP, today carried out canvassing across the city and interacted with the residents in different wards to strengthen BJP’s grip in the city for the upcoming MCC elections. She visited Sector 22 to hold public meeting for ward number 3 candidate Ravi Kant Sharma.

While addressing a public meeting in Sector 22, Kher while seeking support for Sharma said, “Ravi had always been a dedicated BJP worker and I am sure if you support him and elect him as the councillor of your ward you will see development which has not happened here for last 14 years of the Congress regime.”

Those present during the public meeting included Ex Mayor Harjinder Kaur; BJP Chandigarh State Secretaries Renu Bala and Santosh Sharma, Vishal Puri, Mandal 3 President; Narata Lal Gupta; Prince Bundela; Vijay Uppal; Varinder Bajaj; Shiv Kumar Bhanot; Radhe Shaym; Vijay Sharma; and Pankaj, BJYM ward 3 President, among others.

Kher also visited Ram Darbar today to support candidate from ward number 23, Bharat Kumar. She was accompanied by Latika Sharma, MLA, Kalka; Sanjay Tandon, BJP State President Chandigarh; Banto Kataria, senior BJP leader, Haryana, Ram Lal ex-councillor, Devi Singh, District 3 President, and other senior party workers.

During the gathering, the residents apprised Kher of the problems being faced by the masses due to sitting councillor unavailability and negligence. Kher appealed the voters to vote for development this time and assured holistic development in the ward. He assured to make Sampark Centre functional in the area and to get old community centre renovated.

While addressing a public meeting at Old Ropar Road, Manimajra MP Kirron Kher said, various problems in the area have been brought to her notice, and these problems will be solved on priority. She further appealed people to vote for the BJP Candidate from the area, Vinod Aggarwal, who was also weighed against ladoos.

BJP Chandigarh President Sanjay Tandon and Vinod Aggarwal, BJP candidate from ward number 26 were given a warm welcome by Bhagel Singh, President of Motor Market Association, Manimajra along with workers. They also assured full support to BJP. Vinod Aggarwal said, license will be given to vendors and more space with proper facilities will be provided.

Maheshinder Singh Sidhu, party candidate from Ward 1 also carried out intensive campaign in his ward. Sanjay Tandon, BJP Chandigarh President joined Sidhu in the campaign.

Shakti Devshali, candidate from ward number 20 while campaigning in sector 29 was assured of full support by the residents of the area. He said, he is living in this ward since long time and knows the needs of the people of this ward better than any other candidate.

A Nukkar meeting was organized by Uttarakhand Samiti in Sector 45, speaking on the occasion Kanwarjeet Singh, BJP candidate from ward number 14 said, he is committed towards the development of the area, and better sanitation facilities and cleanliness will be his priority. He further added the manifesto is being prepared with the suggestions given by the residents of the area. People appreciated this move by Kanwarjeet and assured him full support.

BJP Candidate from Ward number 16, Rajesh Kumar Gupta campaigned door to door in Sector 33. Jagtar Singh Dhillon went door to door campaigning in his ward 25 and got support from residents.
