BJP Unveils 5-Year Chandigarh Development Roadmap



BJP Chandigarh President Sanjay Tandon and BJP MP candidate from Chandigarh Kiron Kher formally unveiled the development roadmap for Chandigarh in a press conference at the party office Kamalam.

In the manifesto launched by BJP Chandigarh, the party promised to complete several development projects for Chandigarh. 

This roadmap articulates party agenda for the city, including:
  • Mono-rail project for Chandigarh, 
  • Regularization of changes to the houses, 
  • One time settlement of all issues related to Chandigarh Housing Board houses,
  • Ensuring 24 hours water supply, 
  • Preference to Chandigarh residents for jobs in Chandigarh, 
  • Resolution of all parking problems, 
  • Implementation of 6th Pay Commission, 
  • a dispensary in every ward, 
  • bringing all dispensaries under one management, 
  • beautification of all markets of UT, 
  • allowing construction of first-floor on booths, and 
  • approving box type structure for SCF.
Besides, the Chandigarh will be developed as a tourism hub, education hub and an IT hub, providing 
  • free wi-fi in all markets of UT, 
  • removing dumping grounds from DadduMajra, 
  • getting electricity wires underground, 
  • increase in the number of houses allotted to the journalists, 
  • providing insurance and pension scheme for senior journalists, 
  • construction of a convention centre, 
  • fill all empty posts, 
  • allotting deadlines to all projects, and 
  • rationalising the cost of houses for government employees.
On the occasion, Sanjay Tandon said, BJP MP has always been dedicated to service of the residents of Chandigarh and will remain dedicated in future too. 

He said, the main objective of the party is to make sure all required amenities are available to the residents and every last person in the queue get benefits of all the government schemes. 

He added, Kiron Kher has been striving to achieve all this for the last 5 years and will continue to do so. 

BJP has tried to bring in better governance with increased participation of the public. In the future, too, we will further improve governance and get rid of any corruption. 

He acclaimed the members of the committee – Kailash Chand Jain, Yudhvir Sharda, Dhirender Tayal, who drafted the manifesto.
